As you advance further in your career, you keep going back to where it all started and part of that is the college education; the constructive criticism you received and the persistence of the faculty members to make you succeed as a student but more importantly as a human being trying to make a difference in your world is something that I will always cherish. Since graduating from IIHMCA, I feel I use the knowledge learned from my degree every day in my career. I feel my college prepared me for what I would face once entering the job market, allowing me to hit the ground running and have success in various roles so far. I currently sit as the Front office Manager. My career has blossomed in the front desk operations and rooms division operations, solely due to the foundations of the hotel management curriculum that allowed me to build on all the practical classes-based learning. My favorite subject throughout my journey at IIHMCA was Human Resource Management. The core principles taught in theory and role-play classes set me up to understand and implement various analytical aspects of recruitment and induction of new employees in the organisation i work.

I am a proud product of IIHMCA. I got superb education here. The quality of education was phenomenal. The founders have created a fine environment for our education. Our faculties were fantastic. They did not behave like superiors. They treated students like a friend or a family member. I could approach them with questions anytime. They taught us with lot of interest and gusto. The practical classes, especially the non-culinary core subjects had lot of Role Plays which help students to shed all inhibitions and come out with confidence to learn more than what the syllabus has prescribed.

I hail from Odisha state. After completion of my intermediate from state syllabus, I was clueless as to what I would study further and make a decent career ahead. That’s when I came across a typical kitchen arts course in Berhampur, Odisha. After visiting the college there and also sourcing out information from the internet I came to know that Hyderabad is the best place to study Hotel Management and especially Kitchen related course. My education from Indian Institute of Hotel Management and Culinary Arts has allowed me to begin a successful and fulfilling entrepreneurial career. After my initial one year of operational experience, I ventured into a free-lance photography of interior designing, there after becoming an employment generator and started my own company, Pepper Homes, an interior designing and furniture designing. My inherent interest and keenness into upkeep of hotels & homes ignited my passion towards creating my own brand. I must say, that IIHMCA Has definitely ensured that I realise my dream by getting a basic real-time operational experience in a 5-star luxury hotel.
